Make-Up Worth Your Moo-Lah

We've covered the skincare favs, so we've got to do the beauty favs. I've always loved doing my makeup. It makes me feel put together and when I feel put together I seem to be more productive (it doesn't make sense to me either, but it is what it is). I've tried everything from $40 foundations to $3 blushes and I am here to tell you that you do not need to break the bank for your face. All of the below products are from drugstore/Walmart except one! I've put these in the order I apply them!

Also, I have rosacea and ketosis pilaris on my cheeks. None of these products irritate my skin but also do a great job of covering the hyperpigmentation!

Now, let's start with our base...

e.l.f. Jelly Pop Dew Primer

I'm all for that dewy, glowy skin look and this primer helps to achieve just that! It smells like fresh watermelon and is the perfect amount of sticky to hold your products in place all day! It's got a gel texture and moisturizes your skin while wearing! It includes skin-loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, Vitamins A, C and E, and watermelon extract--all for $10!!

L'Oreal Infallible Foundation

I have tried so so SO many different foundations throughout my life. From the most expensive to the cheapest, and the most full-coverage to the least. But this baby right here has changed my life and if they ever take it off the shelves I would no longer leave my house. This foundation is so light and breathable that it literally feels like there's nothing on my face. It's sweat, water, and transfer proof but washes off so easily at the end of the day. It's super buildable so you can decide how full your coverage is and it comes in 40 different shades! This stuff is a game changer and i highly suggest you check it out!

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

Alright, this is my one expensive product, but here me out. I buy the $10 sample size at Ulta, and once it seems like its empty, I take out the plastic peice on the inside and get so much more product out! I have dark under-eye bags, thanks to genetics, so concealer is a must for me. This concealer has incredible coverage while also being super thin and light! It's also crease-proof and perfect for any skin type! If I can recommend you splurging on any item, it's this one!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

We're not concealing more, we're contouring. I get this concealer is in a deep warm tone to contour my face. I love this concealer for this step because it's super thin and buildable. This allows me to start with just a little, add more if needed, and it looks natural and there's no harsh lines. I dot just a little under my cheekbones, along my forehead, and on my jaw. Blend it in for a snapped sun-kissed look!

Maybelline Cheek Heat

This product is a gel/cream blush that dries down to a glowy look without being wet. I've recently transistioned to all cream base products instead of powder and this blush is the star of the show. I use the shade Nude Burn, squeeze a little onto the back of my hand, and then dot on my cheeks and blend with my fingers. SO easy, SO buildable, SO natural, and SO beautiful!

Coty Airspun Powder

Listen. This powder has been around a really long time, and there's a reason that it is still so successful today. It's blurring, it's lightweight, it's long-lasting, and it's finely milled in a way that achieves a softness you can't find anywhere else on the market. If you're worried about the scent, don't be, they make an unscented version now. I set my under-eye and anywhere I applied concealer with this, then take a big fluffy powder brush and lightly brush it over my face. I don't use much but just enough to lock in any oil that may build up throughout the day.

e.l.f. Wow Brow

I used to pluck and color in my eyebrows. I have left this in 2021. I have been growing out my eyebrows and have thrown away my brow pencil and officially switched to a tinted gel. I love this one from e.l.f. because it is buildable. On a day when I just need to gel my eyebrows into place, I can just swipe through once, or if I've got a full face on, I just two two-three swipes to make my brows a little more full. It's cheap, the product lasts all day, your brows don't move, and it WORKS.

NYX Epic Wear Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

This. Product. *chef's kiss*. I've always loved eyeliner. I think it's so pretty and fun and there's so much you can do with it. But here's the problem. My eyes always water in the outer corner. My eyeliner would kind of melt(?) because of this and would smear and almost puddle. I loved it when I applied it, I hated it by the end of the day. So, in an attempt to find a way to be able to wear eyeliner, I tried this one. My roommate did competitive cheer in high school and this was what she used. If it could last for an entire day of cheering, it had to be able to withstand my watery eyes right? RIGHT. This baby is so beautiful, so easy to apply, and stays all day. It doesn't move until you want it to, but here's my favorite part - you have a little playtime after applying. Often times, products that are this waterproof have no time to play before they are dried down. But after application, you have about a minute to mess with it before it's set. I love this product.

L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara

This was the first mascara I ever used - and the only one I've ever repurchased. I have never used the same mascara twice because I've never been satisfied with a product at all stages of using it. But this baby, oh this baby, I've returned to her and will never stray again. The formula is perfect, not too thin, not too thick, doesn't flake, and doesn't get cake-y no matter how many coats you apply. This product is a must.

There you go, there's my fav makeup products/routine! This routine, with these products, takes me 10 minutes tops to do. It's natural, it's easy, and it makes me feel good. Let me know if you try out any of these products and let me know what you think! If there's any products you'd like me to review (so you don't have to) let me know that too!

Reminder: Your makeup should make you feel good. It's purpose is to enhance YOU! You don't need it, and while I say some of these products are a "must have", I personally don't think you need any of them! You are intentionally created the way you are, fearfully and wonderfully. You are made in the image of God and your natural beauty radiates His glory. I love you just the way you are, God loves you just the way you are. I see make-up as a craft (kinda like painting or cooking). It's for fun!

Have the best week ever! See ya' Thursday!

ttyl,

Carrie
